The Loxahatchee River
Join us as we take a leisurely cruise up the Loxahatchee River, Florida’s first (and one of two) federally designated Wild and Scenic River. We will travel up the Northwest fork, into Jonathan Dickinson State Park, getting as close to Trapper Nelson’s (read about him here) as the tides will allow. While we will be unable to disembark at Trapper Nelson’s, the journey offers the opportunity to experience one of Jupiter’s most serene settings. As we meander the river you’ll be treated to a variety of vegetation and wildlife, such as: mangroves, cypress trees, turtles, river otters, alligators and manatee.
